The Passage of Wilbert Alix
Saddened to share that my friend and teacher Wilbert Alix passed from this world on December 18 in Austin, Texas. His son Wilbert and friend Fonda Shannon had cared for him during an extended battle with liver disease. A memorial service will be planned at some point, but I encourage you, until it is safe to gather, to light a candle and dance your prayers in celebration of Wilbert's extraordinary life.
I met Wilbert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the mid-80s when he lead a Frank Natale weekend workshop. During that time we were immersed in the clarity and manifestation of Alive Relationships, The Power of You, and Results: The Willingness to Create, however, each "training" involved profound transformational experiences. A few years later Frank moved to Europe and our collective work shifted to The One Experience, Rites of Passage, Trance Dance and Soul Healing. Frank (aka Professor Trance) produced a body of music during the 90s headlined by the CD Shaman's Breath and book Trance Dance, The Dance of Life.
Wilbert and I spent time together in Austin where he was recognized for leading workshops – including the Results Course for individuals and companies – training people to lead and manifest their dreams into reality. In the 90s I was living in Los Angeles when Wilbert invited me to join his Trance Dance retreat at the Alma de Mujer center near Lake Travis. On Wilbert's trancedance.com website and Facebook page you witness the range of emotions and joyful transformation everyone experienced that long weekend, an amazing story I will share another day.
Over the last 20 years Wilbert presented Trance Dance and Soul Healing workshops throughout Europe and around the world. While it is natural for us to mourn our loss, let us celebrate Wilbert's life and legacy. I am moved by the outpouring of love and gratitude. With Wilbert we have lost a friend and teacher, a kind and energetic soul who opened hearts and minds to the dance of life, an experience beyond space and time where all things are possible. Share the love and light. Know peace. Namaste.
